This UK based organization were moved to do something after the terrible tragedy a few years back in Bangladesh when over a thousand garment workers were killed when their factory building collapsed. According to Fashion Revolution’s statement:
On 24 April 2013, 1,134 people were killed
and over 2,500 were injured when the
Rana Plaza complex collapsed in Dhaka,
Bangladesh. We believe that’s too many
people to lose on one day.
That’s when Fashion Revolution was born.
We applaud Fashion Revolution’s efforts to force garment manufacturers, both big and small, to be transparent on how they make their tops, bottoms, jackets and accessories.
