This week Vivacity Sportswear was on San Diego’s Channel 6 News! This segment, aired on Wednesday morning, November 18 on Channel 6’s show San Diego Living, focused on Women Entrepreneurship Day. Reporter Heather Myers interviewed Vivacity founder Vivian Sayward, Nicole Macdonald of Sash Bag and Monetta Plassmeyer of Mettano Designs .

We are forever grateful to the incredible Silvia Mah of Hera Labs (pictured center above in the blue and black dress). Silvia is the founder of Hera Labs, the business accelerator program located at Hera Hub, the co-working space for female entrepreneurs. Silvia has been an amazing supporter of local female entrepreneurs, offering great resources, including educational and mentoring programs that are not always available for business owners.

During the course of the interview, Silvia offered some great pointers for female entrepreneurs:
- Most business accelerators help you launch then move on to the next startup, while Hera LABS is creating a sustainable network of female entrepreneurs that support one another, and are supported by Hera LABS long after their initial launch. Hera LABS members and alumni experience a long lifecycle to help their business thrive.
- It’s all about building your support system – of the right people – and sharing your knowledge before you ever need their help. This goes not just for obtaining funding but cultivating customer retention over time.
- If your business has already launched and you’re focused on growth, don’t think about doubling your business – think 10x. The way to scale up is to think about the high-impact ways you can grow the business exponentially.
- To keep the momentum going, stay softly in front of your target markets – by sharing useful information in person and on social media. Remind them that you exist and that you’re a helpful resource and/or problem solver.
It was fun to help celebrate National Women Entrepreneurship Day with this group of highly motivated and successful businesswomen.
